Jeev misses cut at St Jude Classic

Memphis: Indian golfer Jeev Milkha Singh carded a horrendous five-over 75 in the second round to miss his third successive cut, falling by the wayside at the St Jude Classic Tournament here.

Jeev, who was overnight tied 12th at three-under, ended his campaign with a total of two-over 142, which was a stroke below the cutline.

Jeev's first and only birdie of the day came on the par-five third hole before the Indian completely lost his way.

Four bogeys in the front nine itself had him three-over at the turn.

It only became worse in the return journey as Jeev dropped strokes on the 12th and 16th on a disappointing day.

Jeev had earlier missed the cut at the Crowne Plaza International and The Memorial before failing to qualify for next week's US Open.

At the top of the leader-board, American Garrett Willis (65) and England's Lee Westwood (68) shared the lead at nine-under 131. American Charley Hoffman (65) took the third place.
