Sadananda Gowda accepts Yeddyurappa's suggestions to combat drought
Shimoga: Karnataka Chief Minister DV Sadananda Gowda on Sunday said that he had accepted the suggestions of former Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa on how to tackle the drought situation in the state.

Karnataka was adopting measures to combat drought in the state and has accepted the suggestions made by Yeddyurappa in this regard, he told reporters.

Gowda said he had issued immediate instructions to all districts that all loan dues collections in drought affected areas should be stopped forthwith.

He said Rs 48 crore has been released to dig new bore wells and to rejuvenate old ones.

Gowda said he will visit Delhi on Monday to take part in the National Development Council meeting where he would urge the Centre to provide a Rs 100 crore special package each to Shimoga, Udupi, Chikamgalur and Dakshina Kannada districts to curb the Naxal menace.
