Hyderabad bomb blasts: Home Minister says families of the dead to get compensation of Rs 8 lakh
Hyderabad: Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde visited the blast site in Hyderabad's Dilsukhnagar area today and later spoke to the media. Highlights from his press conference:

  • We visited both the blast sites today and then met some of the injured in hospitals.
  • 14 people were killed and 119 were injured in the blasts.
  • Of the injured, six are critical.
  • There was no specific intelligence alert about a possible terror attack in Hyderabad. It was a general alert across the country.
  • Too early and improper to say that the state police failed.
  • Those who died have been given a compensation of Rs 6 lakh by the Andhra Pradesh government and Rs 2 lakh by the Prime Minister.
  • The state government will bear the medical expense of all persons injured.
