Watch: Chopper Lands Too Close To Airport, Blades Slice Through Roof

The incident happened during the opening of a suspension bridge in Austria

Spectators who had come to witness opening of a suspension bridge in Austria had to run for cover when a botched up helicopter landing sent debris flying everywhere.

The pilot, while trying to land the chopper, came too close to the hangar and its rotor blades sliced through the structure.

The incident reportedly happened in May but a 19 second video of it has only surfaced on the internet recently.

In the video, the chopper accidentally slashed the structure sending shards of metal flying towards the audience. Panic-stricken spectators ran for cover shortly after.

According to The Mirror, the Bell AH-1 Cobra chopper burst into flames after crash landing. However, the pilot escaped unharmed in the accident. No spectator was hurt in the incident.

On the company website of the helicopter, the pilot said the accident happened because of a 'parking mistake', reported The Daily Mail.
