How happy are you?

How happy are you?
Vermont: Are you on Facebook or Orkut? Do you blog? But more importantly, are you happy? It's this pursuit of happiness that has prompted two scientists to measure your 'I am happy' quotient.

Mathematician Peter Dodds and computer scientist Chris Danforth of the University of Vermont have been tracking the emotions of millions of bloggers.

With a tool called 'hedonometer', these scientists assess sentences starting with words such as - 'I feel...' and give them a happiness score between 1 and 9.

According to their method, the US presidential election day, November 4, 2008, was the happiest day in four years.

But the day of Micheal Jackson's death, one of the unhappiest.

So, while Dodds and Danforth analyze your emotions, why don't you get busy typing happy thoughts on your blogs and spread the disease around?
