Youth gets 10 years in jail for raping minor girl

Muzaffarnagar: A 26-year-old youth has been sentenced to 10 years in jail for the abduction and rape of a minor girl.

Additional District Sessions Judge Chandra Bhushan Singh yesterday imposed a fine of Rs 45,000 on the accused, identified as one Raju, and awarded him the sentence after finding him guilty under sections 363, 366 and 376 of Indian Penal Code, sources said.

In the case, which was reported in Shamli district, the girl was abducted on February 16, 2012, and then raped by the accused.

She was rescued three months later by police, sources added.
