The Academy Awards are movies' biggest night where the best cinematic experiences are celebrated in all their fantastic glory. Another aspect of the Oscars is how incredibly lit up the red carpet, or should we say the champagne carpet, with stars and their equally incredible fashion choices for the night. On the champagne carpet this year many raised the bar of style. It was a year of debuts and many trends that surfaced at the gala fresh off the runway and we can't wait to dive right into it. We give you our best dressed of the night that made a glorious impact at the Oscars this year. But if you prefer to watch our video on the same, click below.
Deepika Padukone was easily one of the most anticipated stars of the night from the Indian bandwagon. And she delivered! Dressed in a black off-shoulder velvet gown from Louis Vuitton, Deepika Padukone easily made it to our (and many other) best-dressed lists.
Cara Delevingne wrote a scarlet letter with her gown as she made a red hot entry in Ellie Saab complete with a floret on the one-shoulder sleeve.
Halle Berry outdid herself in a white cutout Tamara Ralph gown with sparkling rosettes on the neckline and on the slit on the side.
Eva Longoria's Zuhair Murad's gown sparkled away from a distance of course with a special mention for the plunging neckline that only she could do justice to.
Malala Yousafzai made her big Oscars debut too and switched the quintessential salwar kameez for a sequinned hooded Ralph Lauren gown for the big night. Her outfit of the night deserved every roaring applause it received.
Nicole Kidman also walked the 3D florets route in a black shiny Armani Prive number.
Rihanna goes against the tide of the trends to set her own for maternity fashion in a Maison Alaia cutout number that flatters her baby bump almost like it's her second skin.
Every award night has its hits and misses. A gown that looks flattering in pictures may not necessarily be a win on the red carpet. Sandra Oh's Giambattista Valli gown and Zoe Saldana's white Fendi number were some of the night's misses. Even though ruffles ruled the Oscars this season, Florence Pugh's over-the-top ruffles with a black mini-skirt underlay were a miss too. A stylish night overall indeed and we certainly cannot wait for next year to see exciting new looks of the season.
