Deepika Padukone And Malaika Arora Are Already Sporting This New Fashion Trend

If one of your main complaints about fashion lately has been the fact that it's far too uptight and stuffy, then you're in for a pleasant surprise, courtesy the newest fashion trend on the block. Granted, it's still in its budding stages but our keen sense of style has singled this one. Not just that, we're going to go right ahead and tell you that you're going to see it pretty much everywhere soon. Remember, you read it here first.

We're talking about none other than side slit pants. This season, trousers are getting a slit down the side and being peppered with rivets and buttons along their length. It may seem like a minor upgrade from the front but one look sideways will give you a glimpse of the depth and edginess it adds to the overall look. The added bonus is how airy it can feel. After spending far too many summers in skin-tight skinny jeans that leave our legs sweaty and cramped, this sounds like a sweet song to our ears.

And if all those reasons weren't enough for you to open an online shopping search for side-slit trousers right away, some celebrity validation will definitely do that for you. Two of Bollywood's regulars on the style circuit, Deepika Padukone and Malaika Arora sported the side slit pant trend over the past few days.

Deepika gave hers a formal twist by pairing the grey and red Zara pants and it's a buttoned slit with a white shirt with similar cuff details. Completing the look were prim black pumps and a sleek centre-parted ponytail.

On the other hand, Malaika Arora went ahead and gave similar side slit buttoned pants a casual take at the airport. She wore hers with a black tank top, white sneakers and large sunglasses. It seems like Malaika can't get enough of this trend.

A few days later, yet again at the airport she was seen in side slit pants. This time, though she chose a flared denim pair and matched it with a Gucci t-shirt and aviator sunglasses.
