Make your eyes speak volumes even if they're behind spectacles with these expert makeup tips

Celebrity Beauty Expert Armand Beasley On Makeup Tips For Glasses Wearers
If you wear glasses, you can't miss these tips

You've spent upwards of an hour preening in front of the mirror but the second you slip on your spectacles; it all seems to fade away. Those who wear glasses or spectacles, do you feel me? If you do, that feeling can probably be defined as frustration. With their reflective lenses and thick frames, glasses seem to steal the show no matter how much you try to turn the spotlight to the makeup look behind them. However, an expert can definitely change that. Swirlster spoke to International makeup artist and celebrity beauty expert Armand Beasley who is a fixture at award functions like the BAFTAs with a client list that includes Goldie Hawn and Nicole Scherzinger about everything from makeup tips to beauty icons.

Expert Makeup Tips For Those Who Wear Glasses

A spectacle wearer himself, here's what Armand Beasley recommends for those who wear glasses.

  • If you're short-sighted, your eyes will look smaller in your frames. Use a mint toned white or regular white eyeliner on the inside of your eyes like your waterlines to make them look bigger.

  • Use a lash curler to open up your eyes. Here's my top tip when using a curler: blast the rubber tip of the curler with a blow dryer and when it's warm, begin graduating the curl of the lashes so it doesn't scrape along your lenses.

  • If you are long-sighted, your eyes look bigger with glasses. Opt for punchy shades and even black on the inner areas of the eye as that can make them look smaller than they appear.

  • Add a metallic hint of colour to the inner corner or over the lid to accent the eye makeup.
