Beyonce Becomes The Fourth Woman To Wear The 128 Carat Rare Tiffany & Co Yellow Diamond Worth $30 Million

Beyonce and Jay-Z feature in the new Tiffany & Co campaign with the famous 128.54 carat diamond on display

Beyonce Becomes The Fourth Woman To Wear The 128 Carat Rare Tiffany & Co Yellow Diamond Worth $30 Million
Beyonce dons the rare 128 carat yellow diamond for latest campaign.

Beyonce did not achieve the title of Queen B so casually. She sits at the throne for very obvious reasons and a queen must be obviously adorned with the most beautiful diamonds, right? Nobody does diamond jewellery better than Tiffany & Co and seems like they eavesdropped on our conversation because their latest campaign is dripping in luxury with their stunning diamonds luxuriously draped on the rightful queen herself. This campaign saw the legendary 128.54 carat rare yellow diamond falling beautifully on her neck which was re-set in 2012 with a 100 more diamonds added to its original design. The estimate of this necklace is said to be a whopping $30 Million but Tiffany & Co claims it is rather priceless for the rare diamond found more than 100 years ago. Not only is Beyonce now the fourth person to wear it but also the first woman of colour to wear this epic piece of jewellery.

This is the first campaign featuring the Carters together and it only gets better from here. The Carters pose in front of a 1982 rare Basquiat painting that has never been on public display before. The only known images of it are surprisingly available online but it is the use of the uncanny Tiffany blue paint that only made this campaign more worthwhile. Jay-Z wears one-of-a-kind cufflinks refashioned from a vintage brooch by Jean Schlumberger, the famous French jewellery designer, along with a brooch in platinum, yellow gold and diamonds. Surprisingly though, the rare yellow diamond was originally set in Schlumberger's brooch called "A Bird on a Rock". Better luck next time for Jay-Z, perhaps.

The mammoth sized yellow diamond was previously set in a necklace called the Ribbon Roseate which Audrey Hepburn wore in promotional images for Breakfast at Tiffany's. The styling also has a few nods to Holly Golightly, Audrey Hepburn's character in Breakfast at Tiffany's, from the updo and evening gloves to the iconic black dress with a curved back detail that better highlights the jewels but obviously in true Beyonce style.

Socialite Mary Whitehouse was the first lady to wear the famous yellow diamond in 1957 followed by Audrey Hepburn for Breakfast at Tiffany's in 1961 and more recently was worn by Lady Gaga for the 2019 Oscars where she won her first award too. Coincidentally making Beyonce the fourth recipient of this bedazzled jewel which also happens to be her birthdate and lucky number!
