It's summer time. And while that might mean cute summer dresses and beach holidays, it also means having to deal with the buzzing of the mosquitos that will fly into your home and make it their own. Mosquitos are quite a nuisance in the summer, and unless you're looking to come down with some mosquito-borne disease, you'd want to do away with them as soon as you possibly can. But not all of us feel comfortable using chemicals within our homes to get rid of these small, midge-like flies, though. You're in luck, because there are some natural ways in which you can get rid of mosquitos, and we're listing down a few for you.
1. Plant some herbs
Mosquitoes are known to dislike strong scents. It's time to use that to your advantage. Certain plants like lemon balm, basil, mint, rosemary, and even garlic can help prevent mosquitoes from invading your outdoor space. So plant away to keep the mosquitos at bay.
2. Try using a mosquito net
Just ask your grandparents or even your parents if it really works. Most likely, their answer will be yes. Mosquito nets are an age-old remedy to keep the mosquitos away from your space while you try and get your beauty sleep. They're used all over the world for their effectiveness. Install a mosquito net above your bed to keep these pesky bugs away from you while you sleep.
3. Use essential oils
If you're not fond of smells that are too strong, try and use some essential oils around the house. Oils like lemon, eucalyptus, lavender, citronella and cedar wood are all great mosquito repellents. If you like the smells enough, add them directly to your skin after a shower for a natural repellent. If not, simply add them to an oil diffuser. Essential oils are very versatile and can be used as you like.
