Bihar Chief Minister is delivering a lecture in Delhi on 'The Idea of India' at a function presided over by Minority Affairs Minister K Rahman Khan.
Here are the highlights of what Mr Kumar said:
- Today Muzaffarnagar, or before that Bhagalpur or Gujarat, such incidents are a blot
- Constant vigil is the only way to prevent such incidents
- Government has to work for everyone, no one should feel that the government is not working for them. If such a feeling comes then that government has no use.
- The GDP can be high for many reasons. But the question is, how safe are people feeling? And has their life improved?
- You set up industry, the GDP will increase but how do people benefit? You have to be worried about health, education etc.
- To run the country, you have to take everyone along. At times you will have to wear a topi... at times a tilak
- A wave is being forced through a blower in India
- There is only one wind which effectively blows in India
