Mumbai: After a day of heavy rain on Saturday, which paralysed Mumbai, there was no heavy downpour in the night.

It was drizzling in some parts of the city on Sunday but air traffic is affected, as only one runway is functional right now.

There is still some water-logging across Andheri, Vile Parle, Goregaon, Bhandup, parts of Central Mumbai and Thane.

The Met department has predicted frequent spells of rain or showers with possibility of heavy to very heavy rain in some areas in the next 24 hours. The water level in the Mithi river had reached 2.4 metres on Saturday. Danger level at which river will overflow is 2.7 m. But the water level has receded since Saturday.

Meanwhile, Maharashtra Chief minister Ashok Chavan has asked all Mumbaikars not to panic. He spoke to NDTV late on Saturday night about how the city is gearing up to face the rains.
