The first week of Monsoon Session saw heated debates over the situation in Kashmir as well as the recent atrocities on Dalits in the country. During the session, the Opposition also cornered the Bharatiya Janta Party over the remarks passed by party leader Dayashankar Singh on BSP supremo Mayawati. Mr Singh had passed objectionable comments against the BJP leader, and is now expelled by the BJP. Government is likely to list the much-delayed GST Bill for discussion in the Rajya Sabha this week.
