After four soldiers were killed in shelling by Pakistani troops along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri district on Sunday, schools in the region have been closed. Pakistan intensified firing at Indian military posts and villages along the Line of Control or LoC in Poonch and Rajouri districts. One solider was injured in the filing. A teenage girl and a soldier were injured in Poonch.

The Pakistani Army has been supporting infiltration by terrorists along the border, Army Vice Chief Sarath Chand said.
"We will continue with our process of giving a befitting reply," he told reporters.
"(Our) action will speak for itself," Chand added in response to a question on yesterday's incident.

On February 10, Captain Kundu would have turned 23. According to reports, he had booked a ticket to go home for his birthday and celebrate with his mother and younger sister, who live in Pataudi in Haryana. On his last visit not too long ago, he had been held up by villagers as a hero.

"This time they (Pakistan) have used guided missiles and mortors. Heavy firing was done by Pakistanis. We are also retaliating and giving them a befitting reply. The fact remains that how far the Pakistanis are going to continue this firing. We must give a solid reply so that they don't repeat these kind of actions again," Defence expert Sunil Deshpande was quoted by news agency ANI.
Captain Kapil Kundu, 22, was one of the soldiers killed in the firing.
The soliders killed were identified as Captain Kapil Kundu, 22, Rifleman Ramavatar, 28, Rifleman Subham Singh, 22 and Havilder Roshan Lal, 42.
