Karnataka Assembly: Opposition takes on Yeddyurappa over corruption
Bangalore: After repeated attacks from the Opposition, the Karnataka Assembly has been adjourned till Tuesday.

The Opposition created a ruckus in the well of the house and leader Siddaramaiah asked for an Adjournment Motion to be passed. However, Law Minister Suresh Kumar raised a point of order that an adjournment order could not be allowed at this stage.

The Opposition is taking on the BJP state government on the issue of alleged corruption during land deals, and the recent Supreme Court panel findings on the mines owned by the Reddy brothers will only add fuel to the Opposition's campaign.

The report of the Centrally Empowered Committee (CEC), set up by the Supreme Court, says that G Janardhana Reddy and his brother Karunakara Reddy have been mining in areas demarcated as Forest Areas since 2004, and that their mining licenses should be cancelled.
