John Kerry Extends Stay In India

John Kerry was scheduled to leave New Delhi for Washington on Wednesday evening.

New Delhi: US Secretary of State John Kerry, who arrived in India on a three-day visit on Monday, will be extending his stay in Delhi.

John Kerry was scheduled to leave New Delhi for Washington this evening but is now likely to stay back in Delhi at least for a day more.

John Kerry today called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi following Tuesday's Second India-US Strategic and Commercial Dialogue.

Earlier today, he addressed a town hall meeting at the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi.

He was also scheduled to visit the Sisganj Gurdwara, the Jama Masjid and a Hindu temple but the programme got postponed as heavy rain lashed the city on this morning.

Tuesday's bilateral Strategic and Commercial Dialogue was co-chaired by John Kerry and External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj with Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Nirmala Sitharaman and US Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker also in attendance.
