New Delhi:

Two separate incidents of violence linked to protests against the Citizenship Act were reported from Delhi and Uttar Pradesh's Aligarh. In Delhi, two group of protesters, one for and one against the CAA, clashed in city's Maujpur area. In Aigarh, there was a clash reported between the police and the protesters. The police have cut the internet in Ailgarh to contain the spread of any misinformation.

Earlier, hundreds of women are staging a sit-in protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and National Register of Citizens (NRC) in Delhi's Jaffrabad. Over 800 people blocked the road below the Jaffrabad metro line which connects Seelampur to Maujpur and Yamuna Vihar.

Clashes Between Protesters, Police In Aligarh: What exactly happened?
- An Anti-CAA agitation is has been going on for the past 24 days in a locality in Aligarh.

- On Saturday, there was an application given at the Kotwali Police Station in Aligarh for permission for tents and shades to be put up at the protest site .

- However, the cops denied the permission. The women, who came to get the permission, sat on a dharna outside the police station .

-The cops later tried to remove women from the site, leading to a confrontation.

Jaffrabad Anti-CAA Protests Updates: Traffic Affected in Khureji Khas Due To Protest
Traffic movement was affected in northeast Delhi's Khureji Khas area on Monday after a large group, comprising mostly women, gathered there to protest against the CAA, police said.

They said the protesters, approximately less than 100 in number, assembled on a stretch leading to the main road of Khureji Khas for a sit-in demanding roll back of the amended anti-citizenship law.

"The protesters have gathered on one side of the stretch which leads to the main road. There is traffic movement but it is very slow," a senior police official said, PTI reported.

Jaffrabad Anti-CAA Protests Updates: Entry And Exit Gates Of Jaffrabad Station Temporarily Shut
In the view of on-going protests against Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and National Register of Citizens (NRC), the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation on Sunday morning closed the entry and exit of the Jaffrabad station in Northeast Delhi. In a tweet, the DMRC also said trains will not stop at this station.
