J&K Govt has begun sabotage process: Mehbooba

Srinagar: Ahead of the all-party delegation to Kashmir on Monday, PDP leader Mehbooba Mufti has lashed out at J&K Chief Minister Omar Abdullah again.

Speaking in a press conference on Sunday, Mehbooba said the fresh curfew has caused more anger in Kashmir and such a curfew and beating of the people is to sabotage the delegation meet.

Mehbooba went on to say that she will reconsider attending the delegation if curfew continues. Most parts of Valley are under curfew for the seventh consecutive day today.

The PDP leader also said that she hopes the all-party delegation will meet the common man of Kashmir and hear their concerns, as they have already met the ministers of the state.

"The common people's plight needs to heard. The real problem of the people is not being exposed. No food is being transported, medical supplies don't reach hospitals, mobile connections are disconnected. You have to reach out beyond what the party wants to see, they have to make an effort to reach out the common masses...the government is beating people," said Mehbooba.

In response to Mehbooba's threat to reconsider meeting with all party delegation J&K Law Minister Ali Mohammad Sagar has rejected the allegation and said that everyone is free to meet the delegation and curfew has been imposed as a compulsion and not as a choice.
