Rashtrapati Bhavan officials said all steps were being taken to prevent mosquito breeding.
After reports said 52 notices were issued to the Rashtrapati Bhavan over mosquitos in dengue season, officials at the presidential palace Rashtrapati Bhavan today clarified that they are "conscious of the need to prevent mosquito breeding" and asserted that "not a single case of dengue had been reported" from the 320 acre estate.
In a brief statement today, Rashtrapati Bhavan officials said that "all corrective measures required" had been taken after they were alerted by municipal authorities. Specialist inspection teams had been formed for house to house searches, to identify mosquito breeding spots.
Media reports claim that last year too, authorities had issued 125 notices to the President's Estate, after "heavy mosquito breeding" was found at various places on its campus by the health department.
This year, civic authorities have already issued 3,337 notices across Delhi over dengue breeding. Prominent among buildings issued notices are the Delhi Golf Club, All India Institute of Medical Sciences and the Taj hotel in central Delhi.
Officials say at least 171 cases of dengue have been reported this season in Delhi; 52 were recorded in the first week of August alone.
