A man allegedly orchestrated a Rs 10 lakh robbery at his own house, threatening his father at gunpoint and firing several rounds in the air before fleeing with the cash in Delhi.

A man allegedly orchestrated a Rs 10 lakh robbery at his own house, threatening his father at gunpoint and firing several rounds in the air before fleeing with the cash in Delhi.

According to police, the accused, identified as Tavleen, carried out the crime with two associates. The trio allegedly entered the house, pointed a pistol at his father and executed the robbery before escaping.

The East District Police arrested the accused within 24 hours of the incident. His two accomplices, who worked at his father's factory, were also arrested.

The looted Rs 10 lakh cash has also been recovered, police officials said,

Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) East District Rajiv Kumar said police received information about the incident through a PCR call and immediately launched an investigation.

CCTV footage from the escape route was scanned, and a crucial breakthrough came when one of the accused removed his mask near Anand Vihar. When the footage was shown to the victim, he identified the person as his son.

The main accused was arrested from Mukherjee Nagar in Delhi, while the two accomplices had fled to Lucknow. They were later arrested near a toll plaza in Lucknow. Both are residents of Bihar.

During interrogation, the accused revealed that he knew his father was planning to hand over a large sum of money to someone. He then planned the robbery in advance and carried it out with his associates.

All three accused have been sent to judicial custody.
