Coal-gate: PM has a responsibility to India, not just 10 Janpath, BJP's Jaswant Singh tells NDTV

New Delhi: The BJP's Jaswant Singh talks to NDTV on a day CBI director Ramjit Singh submitted an affidavit in the Supreme Court saying the Law Minister and officials from the Prime Minister's Office saw the copy of its report on its investigation on the alleged coal allocation scam. Here are the highlights of what Mr Singh said:

  • It is an unbelievable situation. They must account for what they have done
  • There is a  principle of collective responsibility
  • If the PMO interferes with the working of CBI, who is answerable
  • CBI reports to the Ministry of Personnel which is under the Prime Minister's Office
  • If they keep violating and flaunting all these aspects then the victim is India and we will be grievously wounded as has become pretty evident
  • I am so glad I am not Manmohan Singh
  • They have an overriding responsibility to India, not just to 10 Janpath
