Chattisgarh: Naxals kidnap 7 policemen, distraught familes appeal the government

Raipur: After Naxals kidnapped seven policemen in Chattisgarh, Chief Minister Raman Singh has made an appeal to release four of the abducted cops.

On September 19, Seven policemen from Raipur had gone for a joint operation in the jungle belt, believed to be Naxal infested, and failed to return.

The police later recovered three bodies on the same night.

Families of the abducted cops have been asking the government to act on the matter and bring back their loved ones.

Siv Kumari, wife of one of the abducted cop Asi Bhagat said "My only request is that please leave my husband for the sake of my children. He'll resign from his job after that, we'll leave this area. If we made any mistake, please forgive us."

"I request you to please release my father. We are ready to agree to whatever terms and conditions you put forth," said Supriya, Asi Bhagat's daughter.

Naxal menace in Chattisgarh has been a cause of worry for long. Eventhough, the Chief Minister was seen making appeals to the Naxals, nearly 80 policemen who were administered duties in Naxal prone area,  have refused to join duty.
