The thrice-a-week flight from Indira Gandhi International Airport, Delhi, to Washington Dulles International Airport, United States is scheduled to start from July 7.
Air India is introducing a direct flight connecting New Delhi with Washington DC, United States. This was said by the national carrier on microblogging site Twitter. The thrice-a-week flight from Indira Gandhi International Airport, Delhi (DEL), to Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD), United States is scheduled to start from Friday, July 7. "Air India brings you closer to, Washington, D.C the capital of the United States of America with its non-stop flight thrice a week from 07th July 2017," Air India said on its website - airindia.in. Air India will be operating the new Delhi-Washington flights using Boeing B-777 aircraft.
"It was a dream to connect the two largest democracies. That day has come. We are feeling very proud, feeling satisfied," Air India Chairman and Managing Director Ashwani Lohani said.
"We are connecting #RashtrapatiBhavan with #TheWhiteHouse , #HauzKhas village with #Georgetown," Air India quoted Jayant Sinha, Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation, as saying at the launch event.
