Jodhpur:

Rajasthan police have exposed a honey trap gang in Jodhpur accused of allegedly attempting to honeytrap state minister Ramlal Jat two days ago, said Deputy Commissioner of Police, Bhuvan Bhushan Yadav.

The police have arrested three accused in the matter for blackmailing a model, who jumped off the top floor of a hotel after being blackmailed by the accused to take a file to the minister on the pretext of showing her objectionable pics/videos to him.

The accused have been identified as Akshit and Deepali.

"Three arrested for blackmailing a model and allegedly trying to honey trap Rajasthan minister Ramlal Jat Two days ago, a woman attempted suicide by jumping from the top floor of a hotel. She's currently in hospital and undergoing treatment," Mr Yadav said.

The police further informed that Gungun had gone to Udaipur last year for modelling and came in contact with Akshit and Deepali who later blackmailed her into honey trapping the Minister.

"We found out that she went to Udaipur in (October 2021) for modelling and came into contact with accused Akshit and Deepali. She was later contacted by Deepali who blackmailed her to do their work of taking a file to the minister-on pretext of her objectionable pics/videos," he said.

The police further informed that Akshit used to run the honey trap gang and was booked even before in a famous case.

"The accused Akshit used to run a honey trap gang and was booked earlier also in a famous case. This time also he was planning to do this and blackmail that person (the minister) later," he said.

Further probe into the matter is underway.

However, speaking on the issue, Rajasthan Minister Pratap Khachariyawas said that such conspiracies have been happening in politics for long and the Minister did not know anything about it.

"Honey trap cases and conspiracies have been underway since the inception of dynasties. Earlier, kings were killed in this way. So these conspiracies will happen in politics. But what can the minister do? He didn't know anything," Mr Khachariyawas said.
