The trial being held at a specially built, bomb proof court inside the Arthur Road jail has already seen several ups and downs.

April 15, 2009: On day one, Qasab's advocate the court-appointed Anjali Waghmare was stripped of her duty as she was also representing a victim of the 26/11 attack.

April 16, 2009: The court then appointed a seasoned criminal lawyer Abbas Kazmi.

April 17, 2009: Then he retracted his confessional statement. And claimed he was only 17 years old and should be tried by a juvenile court.

April 29, 2009: On several occasions, Qasab even belittled legal proceedings, laughing in court and angering the judge on several occasions. He even demanded newspapers and perfume.

An inquiry later, Qasab was declared and adult.

May 6, 2009: Finally, the court framed 86 charges including waging war against the nation and for the murder of 166 people. But Qasab denied them all. And pleaded not guilty.

Day 25 into the trial and 25 witnesses have deposed till date. Many of them eye witnesses who have already identified Qasab.

The prosecution claimed the trial would be over in 6 months. With Qasab's lawyer not cooperating, they insist the wait for justice will take much longer.
