12,216 arrested in Bihar police drive in two days

Patna: The Bihar police have arrested 12,216 persons during its drive against criminal elements across the state, a senior police official said today.

Altogether 12,216 persons, including those absconding and warrantees, have been netted in the past two days, Additional Director General of Police (ADG), Headquarters, Ravindra Kumar said.

While 5,239 persons were arrested yesterday, the remaining 6,977 absconders and warrantees were apprehended today, he said.

Police rescued two abducted persons in Bhagalpur district and busted a clandestine minigun factory in Begusarai district during the drive, Kumar said, adding five weapons and a large quantity of liquor were also seized from across the state.

Police launched a three-day drive against the criminals as part of endeavour to improve the law and order situation in view of reported rise in crime graph in Bihar.
