Will the bump from the Mantoux test go away on its own?

Question

I had a mantoux test 3 days ago, which was negative. Will the redness from the test and the small bump would go away by itself? Will I need any medication for the redness and mild swelling?

The test may occasionally lead to a strong reaction, which may cause some discomfort but this swelling usually disappears in about two weeks. The reaction site may itch for which a cold compress can be used.
