Is it safe to let children use walkers?

My baby is in her 8th month. She sits up with support for a minute or two. Can I make her sit up in a walker? If so, how long can I make her sit in it? I tried for a few minutes. She loves to sit in it but my doubt is whether it will affect the back bone if I make her sit in the walker before she sits up independently?

The walkers are accident prone and one should avoid its use. You don't have to teach baby to sit, stand or walk. So please don't use this.
