German drug-peddler held, worked as extra in 'Dum Maro Dum'

Goa: A German drug peddler who claims to have worked as an extra in Rohan Sippy's recently released film 'Dum Maro Dum' has been arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau in Goa, officials said on Friday.

German national Ralp Diersmanm was arrested on May 3 as a part of an operation against chain drug peddling on Goa's coastline, NCB officials said.

He was the part of an inter-state narcotic gang and was picked up from Anjuna flea market, a place alongside the beach, popular among foreign tourists.

His aide Krishna Singh has also been arrested from neighbouring Sawantwadi town in Maharashtra with 3.5 kg high quality hashish worth Rs 17.5 lakhs, Yashodhan Wanage, Zonal
Director, Narcotics Control Bureau said.

The hashish was believed to be brought from northern part of the country to Goa via Delhi, NCB sources said.

During interrogation, Diersmanm told NCB sleuths that he worked as an extra in DMD, a flick that exposes the drug underbelly of Goa. The German tourist claims to have shot for
two scenes.

In the initial questioning, Singh spilled the beans on Diersmanm, who was waiting for him in Goa's flea market. Both have been arrested under Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, officials said.

The story of Dum Maro Dum, starring Abhishekh Bachchan and Bipasha Basu, revolves around the policemen-drug peddler nexus in the coastal state.
