Los Angeles: Robin Williams did not plan his suicide, says a confidante of the Oscar winning actor.

Tmz.com reports that the confidante of Mr Williams', who spoke with him the day before his body was discovered, had a fairly lengthy discussion about several deals in the works and Robin was "completely engaged in the conversation".

The confidante says there was nothing out of the ordinary during the conversation. "He (Mr Williams) was unhappy which he often was, but it was nothing unusual." (Also Read: Mr Williams to have a small and intimate memorial)

As for why Mr Williams was unhappy, the source says the Jack star, like lots of other comedians, "lived in a dark place."

No one in Mr Williams' life, including his wife or personal assistant, had any idea suicide was looming.

The family believes whatever set Mr Williams off on his fatal path occurred shortly before he cut veins, then hanged himself.
