Raghav Chadha, an AAP MP, recently demanded paternity leave in Parliament. Citing that caregiving responsibilities should be shared by both parents, he argued that paternity leave should be made a legal right in India.
Parineeti Chopra, as a proud wife, gave a roaring shout-out to Chadha's demand on social media.
Sharing a video from Parliament, Raghav Chadha wrote: "I demanded in Parliament that PATERNITY LEAVE should be a legal right in India.
"When a child is born, both parents are congratulated. But caregiving responsibility falls on one—the mother.
"A father should not have to choose between caregiving for his newborn and keeping his job. And a mother should not have to go through childbirth and recovery without her husband's support."
Raghav added: "Right after childbirth, the woman needs her husband's presence the most. The husband's caregiving responsibility toward his wife is equally important. I raised this issue in Parliament because caregiving is a shared responsibility. Our laws must reflect that."

Raghav and Parineeti welcomed their first child, a baby boy, on October 19 last year. They named him Neer.
Sharing the name with their Instagram family, the couple wrote: "Jalasya rūpam, premasya svarūpam—tatra eva Neer.
"Our hearts found peace in an eternal drop of life. We named him 'Neer'—pure, divine, limitless."
Parineeti Chopra and Raghav Chadha married in the picturesque Leela Palace, Udaipur, in 2023.
