Meanwhile FaceBook drama 'The Social Network' won forthe best adapted screenplay beating '127 Hours', 'I Love YouPhillip Morris', 'The Town' and 'True Grit', reported LosAngeles Times.

Hits like 'The King's Speech' and 'Another Year' wereineligible for best original screenplay under guild rules.Other top films like 'Toy Story 3' and 'Winter's Bone' werealso ineligible for the same reason.

Charles Ferguson's 'Inside Job' which is about the2008 economic meltdown, got the best documentary film award.On the TV front 'Modern Family' was named best comedy seriesand 'Mad Men' was named best drama series.

Steven Zaillian, writer of films including'Schindler's List', 'Gangs of New York' and 'Awakenings' waspresented the Laurel Award for Screen, honouring lifetimeachievement in outstanding writing for movies.

The awards ceremony was held last Saturday at twosimultaneous places, the Renaissance Hollywood Hotel in LosAngeles and the AXA Equitable Center in New York.
