Hate Story's revealing posters to be painted blue

  • Risque posters of soon-to-release film Hate Story is making the West Bengal Board of Censorship see blue. The posters feature a bare backed Paoli Dam, the star of the movie.
  • The Calcutta High Court has upheld an order issued by the state censor board to the film’s distributor, Jalan Distributors, asking that the posters be displayed only after the actress’ back is painted blue. Justice Dipankar Dutta, who upheld the order, directed the distributors and the state to file affidavits in support of their contentions.
  • Jalan Distributors claimed that the film has already got a U/A certificate and, as such, the state government cannot ask it not to depict scenes from the film on the posters.
  • The state Advocate General, Anindya Mitra, opposed the plea claiming that such posters should not be displayed in public places in view of children.
