Shakeel however feels that he is being troubled for no fault of his and that Dutt is being revengeful of the case against him for compensation of the 2 crore loss Shakeel had to face as Sanjay walked out of the movie
Jaan Ki Baazi which was later shelved.
As claimed by the director the 50 lakh signing amount was paid to Dutt for
Jaan Ki Baazi. But Sanjay would refuse to give dates and continually delayed th file by 2 years with all these excuses, which furthered the director's loss to 1.53 crore.
Eventually after filing complaints at the Indian Motion Pictures Producer's Association (IMPPA), Sanjay's flat at Pali hill and Mayfair office building at Santacruz were attached.In his plea Dutt has sought for detachment of his property, and also the Mayfair building's owner is Maanayata which could not be attached.
