Akshay Kumar is all set to impress fans with his upcoming film Bhooth Bangla. Directed by Priyadarshan, the horror comedy is slated to hit theatres on April 10. Ahead of the release, the actor, along with his mother-in-law Dimple Kapadia, visited Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga Temple to seek blessings from Lord Shiva.
In videos doing the rounds online, the superstar and the veteran actress are seen offering prayers at the temple. While Akshay is dressed in an all-white traditional outfit, Dimple Kapadia is seen in a pink saree. In one of the clips, the duo can be spotted holding a brass pot filled with water for the jal abhishek ritual.
In another, Akshay Kumar is seen bowing before Nandi Dev's idol and whispering his wishes into its ears.
Akshay Kumar and Dimple Kapadia share a warm bond. But not many know that things were not always this smooth. Initially, Dimple was sceptical about her daughter, Twinkle Khanna, marrying Akshay.
Back in 2024, the actress opened up about this phase during an event organised by FICCI FLO Jaipur.
She said, "Earlier on, I had my reservations about my daughter getting married to him. Thank God she did. He is what any aspiring actor would want to be as far as discipline is concerned. He is an amazing man. I see him interacting with a lot of people and he derives so much joy in just sitting and playing basketball or cards with you. He can just sit down and chat with you and make you feel so good. He is naughty to the hilt and he finds me to do these things on.”
Akshay Kumar and Twinkle Khanna got married in 2001. The two are proud parents to son Aarav and daughter Nitara.
Coming back to Bhooth Bangla, the film also features Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, Tabu, Wamiqa Gabbi and Jisshu Sengupta. The project has been jointly bankrolled by Balaji Motion Pictures and Cape of Good Films.
