About Hardoi

In 2014 general elections, Anshul Verma from Bharatiya Janata Party or BJP had won the Hardoi Lok Sabha constituency in Uttar Pradesh. He received 3,60,501 votes. His opponent was Shive Prasad Verma from Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) who received 2,79,158 votes.

In 2009 general elections, Usha Verma from Samajwadi Party had won the Hardoi Lok Sabha constituency. She won 2,94,030 votes. Her closest opponent was Ram Kumar Kuril from Bahujan Samaj Party or BSP. He received 2,01,095 votes.

In 1971 general elections, Kinder Lal from Indian National Congress (INC) had won the Hardoi seat. In 1977 general elections, Parmai Lal from Janata Party had won the seat.

In 1980 general elections, Manni Lal from INC (I) had won the Hardoi constituency. In 1984 general elections, Kinder Lal was again elected on a ticket from INC.

In 1989 general elections, Parmai Lal from Janata Dal had won the Hardoi constituency. In 1990 general elections, Chand Ram from Janata Dal was elected from the Hardoi constituency.

In 1991 and 1996 general elections, Jai Prakash from BJP won the seat from Hardoi Lok Sabha constituency. In 1998 general elections, Usha Verma from Samajwadi Party had won the Hardoi seat.

In 1999 general elections, Jai Prakash from Akhil Bharatiya Lok Tantrik Congress had won the seat from Hardoi constituency. In 2004 general elections, Iliyas Azmi from Bahujan Samaj Party was elected.

In 2019 general elections, there are 11 candidates contesting the elections including 4 independent candidates. They are Usha Verma from Samajwadi Party, Jai Prakash from Bharatiya Janata Party, Virendra Kumar from Indian National Congress, Mahendra Pal Verma from Bahujan Awam Party, Ram Chandra from Bharatiya Krishak Dal, Sahab Singh from People's Party of India, and Sanjay Bharatiya from Pragatishil Samajwadi Party. The four independent candidates are Shive Kumar, Bhaiya Lal, Chotte Lal, and Avdhesh Kumar.
