About Valmiki Nagar

In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Satish Chandra Dubey was elected from Valmiki Nagar in Bihar on a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ticket. He received 3,60,4013 votes. His closest opponent was Purnmasi Ram from Congress who received 2,46,218 votes. Satish Chandra Dubey won the constituency by a margin of 1,17,795 votes.

 
In 2009 general elections Valmiki Nagar parliamentary constituency was won by JDU's Baidyanath Prasad Mahto. Valmiki Nagar constituency came into existence in 2008 as a part of the implementation of delimitation of parliamentary constituencies based on the recommendations of the Delimitation Commission of India constituted in 2002.
 
The Valmiki Nagar constituency consists of six Vidhan Sabha seats these are Valmiki Nagar, Ramnagar, Narkatiaganj, Bagaha, Lauriya and Sikta.

In the 2019 general elections National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has fielded JDU's Baidyanath Prasad Mahto, Congress has fielded Shashwat Kedar and Bahujan Smaja Party (BSP) has fielded Deepak Yadav.
