In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Rama Kishore Singh was elected from Vaishali in Bihar on a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ticket. He received 3,05,450 votes. His closest opponent was Raghuvansh Prasad Singh from RJD who received 2,06,183 votes. Rama Kishore Singh won the constituency by a margin of 99,267 votes.

In 2009 and 2004 general elections Vaishali parliamentary seat was continuously won by Raghuvansh Prasad Singh of RJD.

Vaishali parliamentary constituency consists of five Vidhan Sabha seats these are Minapur, Kanti, Baruraj, Paroo and Sahebganj.

Voting for Vaishali seat was concluded in the sixth phase of elections on May 12.

In the 2019 general elections National Democratic Alliance has fielded Lok Jan Shakti Party's Veena Devi and her rivals are Raghuvansh Prasad Singh of RJD and Shankar Mahto of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP).
