About Sitamarhi

In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Ram Kumar Sharma was elected from Sitamarhi in Bihar on a Rashtriya Lok Samata Party (RLSP) ticket. He received 4,11,265 votes. His closest opponent was Sitaram Yadav from Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) who received 2,63,300 votes. Ram Kumar Sharma won the constituency by a margin of 1,47,965 votes.

In 2009 general elections Sitamarhi seat was won by Janata Dal (United) JDU's Arjun Rai. In 2004 general elections Sitamarhi parliamentary seat was won by RJD's Sitaram Yadav and the runner up was Naval Kishore Rai of JDU.

The Sitamarhi constituency consists of seven Vidhan Sabha seats these are Bathnaha, Parihar, Sursand, Bajpatti, Sitamarhi, Runnisaidpur and Sonbarsa.

In the 2019 general elections National Democratic Alliance has fielded JDU's Sunil Kumar Pintu, RJD has fielded Arjun Rai and Bahujan Samaj Party has fielded Jaseem Ahmed.
