Delhi Police on toes to ensure free, fair polls
New Delhi: Delhi Police is on an overdrive these days as it prepares for a peaceful Lok Sabha polls which are slated for April 10.

Senior police officials are regularly holding meetings to assess the security needs ahead of elections.

A coordination meeting with police chiefs of neighbouring states is slated to be held in the next couple of days at the Delhi Police Headquarters.

Specialised units like Special Cell and Crime Branch have also been roped in for threat assessment.

Senior police officials are leaving no stone unturned as the Delhi Police has to carry out double responsibility - first to ensure that the election code is not violated and second to oversee fool-proof security when the election takes place.

Efforts are being made to curb the movement of cash, liquor and muscle men from neighbouring states of the national capital.

Permissions for various poll related activities are also given at district level after assessment by the area DCPs.

Delhi Police is also sending a daily report to the Election Commission.
