Coronavirus: CSIR-NISCAIR’s Competition on Essay, Drawing & Mobile Video-making, Last Date to Submit is May 15

CSIR-NISCAIR has launched an online competition for students of Classes 5 to 12 with coronavirus as the theme.

National Institute of Science Communication (NISCAIR), Delhi, has announced an online competition with the theme “Coronavirus: An Invisible Enemy”.

The competition includes various categories like cartoon or drawing, writing and mobile or video-making – all on the common theme of the COVID-19 outbreak.

There are separate competitions for two groups - group one includes students from Classes 5 to 8 and group includes students from Classes 9 to 12.

The deadline for submission of entries is May 1.

Competitions

The cartoon or drawing competition is named “Art Caro Na”. The topic for group one is “Social distancing and hygiene to prevent COVID-19” and the topic for group two is “Coronavirus pandemic - Changing Lives”.

The essay writing competition is named “Writing Caro Na.” The topic for group 1 is “Life during lockdown” and the topic for group 2 is “The school comes home”. The essay has to be written in 1,000 words.

The mobile or video-making competition involves making a two minute video. The topic for group 1 is “What am I missing the most in the lockdown” and the topic for group 2 is “Misinformation is greater danger in the pandemic”.

Rules

The rules of the competition allows only Indian citizens to participate. The entries in various categories are invited from students of Class 5 to 12.

The medium of language for the various competitions can be English or HIndi.

The official website says, “The cartoons, drawings, essays and mobile videos submitted for this competition would be considered as property of CSIR-NISCAIR.”

Candidates have to register and submit their entries online at CSIR-NISCAIR's official website www.niscair.res.in.
