Heavy rains lash Delhi, waterlogging in many places
New Delhi: Heavy rains lashed the national capital today bringing to fore the problems of waterlogging and the subsequent difficulties for the people.

The heavy showers started after 1:30 pm slowing down traffic on major stretches near the ITO, South Extension and Vikas Marg, among others.

Waterlogging was reported from several areas, including Laxmi Nagar, Parliament Street and ITO.
The minimum temperature was recorded at 28.2 degree Celsius, one degree above normal.

Yesterday, the maximum temperature was recorded at 33.9 degree Celsius, while the minimum temperature settled at 27.2 degree Celsius.

The city received 0.2 mm rainfall since yesterday till 8.30 AM today. The capital has been receiving Monsoon rains for the past four days.

Monsoon hit the capital on Friday evening after missing the normal onset date of June 29. Last year, the monsoons reached the city on June 26.

The MeT office has forecast rains tomorrow as well and that the maximum and minimum temperatures would be around 33 and 26 degree Celsius, respectively.
