Delhi Elections: Repoll in 2 Booths in Rohtas Nagar and Delhi Cantonment

An estimated 67 per cent turnout was recorded yesterday in the crucial Delhi Assembly polls.

New Delhi:

Repolling will be held tomorrow at two polling booths - one each in Rohtas Nagar and Delhi Cantonment - owing to EVM malfunctioning, office of Delhi's Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) announced today.

Respective District Electoral Officers have issued public notice in this regard and polling will be held at the two booths from 8 am to 6 pm.

The poll panel said that there were problems in the Electronic Voting Machines (EVM) at the two booths on February 7 after which it was decided to conduct repolling there.

"We got to know about some problem in EVM machines at polling booth no. 31, which falls under Delhi  Cantonment. We also got to know of the same problem at 132 booth number which falls under Rohtas Nagar Assembly constituency," a senior electoral officer said.

There will be paid holiday for the voters of the two booths, he said.

An estimated 67 per cent turnout was recorded yesterday in the crucial Delhi Assembly polls where BJP and AAP are locked in a battle.
