CWG closing will have laser show and pop stars: Organisers
New Delhi: The organisers of the CWG closing ceremony say that it will be a gala celebration depicting contemporary India, with a "never-seen-before" laser show and a "pop party".

Wizcraft International which organised the spectacular opening ceremony, said that they plan to dazzle again on October 14, when the Games come to an end.

"The opening ceremony was about India's culture and heritage.. the concluding will show the country's modern and contemporary side. There are huge expectations from us but we are sure of putting up a great show," Viraf Sarkari, Director, Wizcraft International Entertainment, said.

"Ideally opening ceremonies are about cultural extravaganza and the country's history. The concluding part is more of a celebration. The main theme of the event is universal love," Sarkari said.

"If the highlight of the opening ceremony was the Aerostat (helium balloon) the closing ceremony will have a never seen before laser show," claims Sarkari.

"The closing ceremony will have a huge pop party as it is celebration time for everyone. Apart from the colourful laser show, the ceremony will also showcase India's martial arts," he said.

When asked whether keeping Bollywood celebrities away from the Games was a deliberate decision, Sarkari replied in the affirmative. "We have been successful in displaying Indian culture and we should be proud of our history. Stars are not important.. concept is the key," he said.
