Mumbai: The suburb of Kurla in East Mumbai lives in fear of a serial killer. Since February, three young girls have been raped and killed here, the last four days ago.
The police has detained one man who resembles the alleged killer.
The second of the three girls killed was found on the terrace of the police quarters in Nehru Nagar. That led to the suspicion of a possible link between the killer and the police. So several policemen and their relatives who live in this building are being questioned.
DNA samples of at least 70 people who live in the area are being scanned. However, these were collected in March. The slow progress has led to anger in the suburb. The senior inspector of the Nehru Nagar police station - responsible for the area where the murders have taken place - has been transferred because of the slow investigation.
