Ambala:
A second year BTech student of an engineering college in Kurukshetra was allegedly stabbed to death by five men on Tuesday near Ambala.
According to the police, the 22-year-old victim Narmail Singh, a resident of village Ghasitpur adjoining Ambala Cantonment, was attacked with sharp weapons near Shahpur village, when he was going towards a bus stand and was repeatedly stabbed.
He was rushed to a nearby civil hospital at Ambala Cantonment where he was declared brought dead.
The exact cause of the incident could not be ascertained immediately, said Ajab Singh, SHO of Parao Police Station. However, the family of the victim has alleged that Mr Singh was attacked to avenge insult of an incident few days ago, when the five accused had a fight with the victim after he had complained about their misbehaviour.
According to his family, the five accused were often seen passing lewd comments on girls from the village. The 22-year-old student reportedly complained to the parents of the alleged eve teasers, and even warned of filing complaint with the police.
The police has registered an FIR against all the five accused, who are absconding since the incident happened.
