Man Killed In Bengaluru Building Collapse, Rescuers Look For Survivors

"One person has been killed. He got stuck in between the beams of a building," an official disclosed.

Bengaluru:

A three-storey under construction building came crashing down in Bengaluru's Thyagaraja Nagar area today. One person has died. The reason seems to be deep excavation in an adjacent building.

Dog squad and fire department have been deployed at the site and they are trying to find out if more people are stuck under the debris.

According to a Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike official present at the site of the collapsed building, it seems that the building which collapsed had not violated any law. However, the owner of the adjacent property started excavating a few days back and ended up digging close to the foundation pillars of the three-storey building, which led to the tragedy. He said that the documents of the building are being examined.

"One person has been killed. He got stuck in between the beams of a building," an official disclosed. The victim, who seems to be in his 20s, is said to be an electrician or welder working at the site.
