India Yamaha Motor Private Limited has announced a five-year roadside assistance program at Rs 975. This marks another step in the Japanese automaker's service expansion. It comes at a time when the automaker is completing its four decades of operations in the country.
The brand claims that the initiative offers round-the-clock assistance across the country, catering to various situations such as vehicle malfunctions, accidents, battery issues, flat tires, minor repairs, and medical crises. Customers have access to towing services and on-site repair support through this initiative.

This roadside assistance program complements Yamaha's newly introduced 10-year warranty system, which integrates a standard 2-year warranty with an additional 8-year extended warranty option. With these programs in place, the motorcycle manufacturer is focusing on after-sales services to occupy a relatively bigger space in a price-sensitive market. Furthermore, these services might help the brand build consumer loyalty.
Presently, the Japanese automaker in India has a product lineup consisting of multiple models covering various segments. In the scooter segment, the brand has the Fascino 125 and RayZR series. Among the very few maxi-scooters sold in the country, the brand has the Aerox 155 as its flag bearer in the segment.
In the commuter motorcycle segment, the brand has models like the FZ-S series, FZ-X, and others. With a street fighter body style, the brand has the MT-15 and the R15 as a supersport. Meanwhile, the middle-weight segment consists of MT-03 and YZF-R3.
