Renault is preparing to introduce the refreshed version of Kwid in India, aiming to reinvigorate its entry-level lineup. Since its 2015 debut, the Kwid has been a key contributor to Renault's success in the country. However, recent sales have seen a decline, prompting the brand to roll out a facelifted version to better compete with segment rivals like the Maruti Suzuki Alto, Tata Tiago, and others.

The test mule of the Renault Kwid facelift has now been snapped testing in India, though the vehicle was wrapped with checkered camouflage sheets, it does reveal the overall design and stance of the hatchback. The spy shots suggest that the new Renault Kwid seeks most of its design inspiration from the Dacia Spring EV, sold in the international market. The test mule was spotted carrying pentagonal halogen headlights and Y-shaped DRLs. It gets a refreshed front fascia with a newly designed grille and the light setup, along with new bumpers on the front and rear.

On the rear end, the Renault Kwid facelift draws similarity with the Dacia EV sibling with the Y-shaped tail lamps. Other highlights of the facelift version of the hatchback include squared-off wheel arches, flap-style door handles, and more.

While the interior details have not been revealed yet, the test mule suggests that it will get a larger infotainment screen, probably the 10-inch unit. The Renault Kwid facelift is also expected to refresh the cabin ambience with updated upholstery and a newly designed dashboard.

Under the hood, the Renault Kwid facelift is expected to carry forward the power mill from the outgoing model. It will get a 1.0-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine, mated with a 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT, available as options. This powerhouse is capable of pushing out a peak power and torque output of 68 hp and 92.5 Nm, respectively.
